Cristiano Ronaldo: Man Utd coach Phelan scrapped Ferguson plan for Juventus superstar

CRISTIANO RONALDO spent six years at Manchester United – and a fresh report involving Sir Alex Ferguson and Mike Phelan has now come to light. Cristiano Ronaldo, now blitzing Serie A with Juventus, spent six years at Manchester United earlier in his career between 2003 and 2009.

There, the Portugal international established himself as one of the best players in world football, while also helping the club win three Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League.

Ronaldo nearly left Manchester United prematurely, however, after an altercation with Wayne Rooney at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
